English Toffee

Today's coffee came from a gas station...but it was still really good : ) I honestly love the little machines of already made coffees. I usually get Mocha but instead today I tried a English Toffee Cappuccino.

Tasted more creamy then I expected but it wasn't salty tasting and that's a plus. Sometimes I find that gas station coffee is somewhat tasty when it comes to their cappuccinos. I loved WaWa coffee and I always hold all gas station coffees to their coffee. This fell short taste wise when comparing the two.

Casa De Luna Coffee House

Today's coffee is Hazelnut Heaven from Casa De Luna Coffee House located in Bellflower, CA.

At first I tried to go in on a Sunday afternoon however they are not open on Sundays (which I can completely understand). So I went back the next day to try out some of their coffee. I read on yelp.com that people were giving them good reviews - and I can see why. The guy behind the counter was very helpful with helping me pick out just the right drink (I wanted something hot and sweet tasting). He really seemed to know he was talking about too which was nice.

Casa De Luna Coffee House has a cool design as well, come in from the front or the back that leads to a patio and a park. They also have plenty of seating along with an array of different books to read while sipping on some coffee.

And of course I absolutely love the heart design that was swirled into my latte! First time I have ever ordered coffee from a coffee house and got a design.

Mocha Latte from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

I was In the mood for some hot chocolate but yet I needed some caffeine for a little afternoon pick me up.

So after asking what was the closest thing I could get that would taste like hot chocolate yet have coffee they suggested their Mocha Latte. They said it was made with steamed milk, mocha and coffee. Honestly though, it did not resemble hot chocolate as much as I would of liked and at first I found it to be pretty bitter. After a few sips it started to taste sweeter...I think it may be because I'm not a big fan of steamed milk.

So was it my hot chocolate substitute? No, but it did satisfy my craving for caffeine and of course I love that they have free Wi-Fi at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf so you can sit back and relax on your lap top while sipping on their coffee.

3rd Street Coffee

Tonight I tried a White Chocolate Mocha from 3rd Street Coffee. Normally I'm not a white chocolate fan...but I was in the mood for something different. I was surprised by how it tasted and actually liked it. The coffee lid even came with a little flower sticker. The place was pretty roomy along with having quite a few tables.

They also had smoothies on the menu along with having a lot of cookies and cheese cake to have along with your coffee.

I would definitely recommend trying out their coffee!

Ten Ren Tea

Ok, so I did not get tea at Ten Ren Tea, but I did get some almond hot coffee. Pretty much the entire menu did consist of different teas, but of course being a coffee fanatic I had to go with coffee : )

I really like their coffee, I was somewhat weary since they mostly just served tea I thought their coffee might lack flavor - however I was wrong. I would say it was one of the better coffees that I have had. The flavor was a rich almond, yet not too strong. Perfect blend of coffee and almond.

They have different locations that you can find on Ten Ren Tea's website.

It's A Grind Coffee House

Recently I have become addicted to watching the TV show "Weeds" on Showtime. I could not help noticing that the main character, Nancy Botwin, played by Mary-Louise Parker, is always slurping the dregs of her coffee by a place called "It's A Grind Coffee House". They also show people going in and out of It's A Grind Coffee House in the beginning of the shows intro.

So just the other day as I was driving I saw a It's A Grind Coffee House! I seriously had no idea that it was an actual coffee shop! Talk about some serious product placement...but it sure worked! I don't think I ever would of known about this place if I didn't watch the show.

Now I understand why the character Nancy is always drinking those lattes! There coffee is amazing! I went in wanting to get something hot, but outside they had a sign for Bavarian Black Cherry frappuccino...and well I couldn't resist it sounded so good and sure enough it was! Even came with a cherry on top. Seriously tasted like a black cherry and boy was it good.

I plan on going back there again to try their other coffee drinks. The atmosphere is pretty chill as well. They have Free Wi-Fi (unlike Starbucks) and have plenty of comfortable looking seats you can relax in.

It's A Grind Coffee House has an online menu that you can download and look through all of their coffee plus see nutritional information.

Seattle's Best Coffee - Canned Version

Seattle's Best Coffee has come out with an Iced Latte version of their coffees that you can get in their cafe. They have three different flavors: Iced Mocha, Iced Latte and Iced Vanilla Latte.

I tried their Iced Vanilla Latte. Now I have never tried their coffee from their cafes, but it kind of reminded me of those ensure drinks since it has more of a creamy taste.

I must admit I really do like ensure drinks if I'm in the mood for them. So yes, I did actually like it, though is it something I will seek out next time I'm in the grocery store? Probably not in all honesty - thought I am inclined to give one of the other flavors a try. For a mid-day wake up of caffeine, it did the trick.

For more information you can check out Seattle's Best Coffee website for locations and menus.

Dark Cherry Mocha by Starbucks

Just reading that makes you want it! I immediately thought of those delicious little chocolate covered cherries you start to see more of around Christmas time. Starbucks Dark Cherry Mocha is blended just right with espresso, dark chocolate and some bittersweet mocha to make for one incredibly delicious treat!

Do you prefer to have your drinks iced, hot or made as a frappuccino? Well your in luck with this one as it can come in all three. I personally love it as a Frappuccino just something about it I think that it has more of a cherry/dark chocolate taste than the others. But maybe that's just me :) At about 400 calories a drink you should be able to taste it!

Either way your sure you love this drink! You can see more at Starbucks official page for the Dark Cherry Mocha, plus you can browse some delicious looking pictures of their drinks!

Godiva Coffee

When you think of Godiva, you think of decadent chocolate. I absolutely love the chocolates at the Godiva shop, but I was really excited when I spotted Godiva Coffee grounds!

I did not find this coffee at a Godiva shop though, I actually found a bunch of them at Target down the coffee isle. I choose the Chocolate Truffle since I love that flavor in other coffee grounds.

I rate this at 8 out of 10. I love how rich it tastes and it smells wonderful. The aroma made my apartment smell just like a coffee shop, which I think is an extra perk : )

I will most definitely be buying this blend of coffee again.

Burger King to Carry New Line of Coffee

In an effort to compete against the bigger companies like Starbucks and McDonald's McCafe, Burger King has decided to carry a new line of coffee.

Personally I hope that their new coffee tastes better than McDonald's McCafe coffee line. I personally do not care for them, I'm not sure whether or not it is because (a. Their staff does not know how to make good coffee...especially since the same drink tastes different every time I get one or (b. Their coffee grounds/machines themselves are not very good. I just personally do not care for their coffee...now Burger King on the other hand is, I'm sure, wanting to make their coffee better than McDonald's.

I'm excited to see what Burger King comes up with and how it will taste. I believe the difference between coffee from Starbucks vs. places like burger King or McDonald's is the people who work there. Starbucks or another local coffee shop are people who work there because they love coffee...where as I would assume someone does not apply at Burger King to make great coffee.

The Coffee Bean - Dark Chocolate Latte

Tonight I tried a new cup of coffee at The Coffee Bean called Dark Chocolate Latte. I love how their hot drinks taste and combining that with how much I love chocolate, I figured this would be a great combination.

So as I sit here sipping on my latte, I'm pretty pleased with my choice. You can add some espresso to their coffee as well, however I skipped on that cause I tend to like my drinks sweet : )

Mimis Cafe

Mimis Cafe has a wide variety of foods that are simply delicious. However just for their coffee alone I think it is a reason to check them out.

They have their coffee listed on their Espresso Bar part of the menu. I ordered a hot Mocha Latte with whipped cream on top (I had already eaten the whip cream off by time I took the picture) and comes in an extra big cup!

Definitely a place to check out if you live near any of their locations!
